Born and bred in Wales, I graduated from the University of Exeter with a first-class honours degree in Drama and won the Cameron Mackintosh Scholarship to study acting at RADA.  My work as an actor encompasses both stage and screen, and has included projects with the National Theatre, BBC, S4C, National Theatre Wales, New York’s 59E59 & Clwyd Theatr Cymru, for which I played Hamlet.  I directed my first screen project in 2009, picking up a nomination for Best Documentary at the Celtic Media Festival.  I have since directed a number of drama projects, including THE INDIAN DOCTOR, WIZARDS vs ALIENS, WATERLOO ROAD, CASUALTY, ALYS, CAERDYDD & POBOL Y CWM.  In 2013 I won BAFTA Wales BEST DIRECTOR for my work on THE INDIAN DOCTOR.  I am director and co-founder of Joio and have recently produced and directed the company’s three-part mini-series, TIR.  My short film, WANT IT, is currently on the international festival circuit.
